Protection, Vacation Mode and Your Account

Because the game runs while you are offline, there are rules that protect your account when real life demands a break.

Beginner protection

New players are shielded from attack for seventy-two hours by default; the duration is set in the world rules. Protection is mutual: you cannot be attacked and you cannot attack. Make sure your city has a defence by the time it ends.

Vacation mode

If you will be away for a while, you schedule vacation mode. The rules are as follows.

• Vacation mode does not start immediately. It activates after a delay of twelve hours by default, so it cannot be used as an escape hatch while under attack.
• If you have army movements on the road, the start is automatically pushed back until they finish.
• You can schedule between forty-eight and seven hundred and twenty hours (thirty days).
• A scheduled vacation can be cancelled before it starts. An active vacation cannot be ended early.
• While on vacation, new actions are closed: no attacks, no recruitment orders and no trading.

Some worlds disable vacation mode entirely; check the world rules.

Inactivity

Accounts that go without a login for a long time are eventually treated as abandoned; the default threshold is forty-five days. If you are taking a break, use vacation mode rather than simply leaving.

Account security

• Never share your password. Handing your account over so someone can "play it for a few days" is the most common source of rule breaches.
• Opening several accounts from one device raises a risk signal. The system notices a shared installation and a shared notification token and flags the account for review.
• Automatic signals are not a punishment in themselves; they only set a review priority. A human makes the decision.
• If you want your account deleted, you can request it from the settings screen. A deletion request can be withdrawn.

Notification preferences

Alerts such as incoming attacks, clan messages and support replies can be switched on and off in settings. If you play on a border, leave the attack alert on; it is the most valuable early warning in the game.
