Getting Started
Choosing a world, civilisations, your first city and beginner protection. Exactly what to do in your first hours.
Antik Cag is a real-time strategy game played in the browser and in the mobile app. You start with a single city, produce resources, upgrade buildings, raise an army, found a clan and eventually conquer your neighbours. The game keeps running while you are offline: production, construction and marching armies all advance on server time.
Choosing a world
Every world is a separate game. Your city, army and clan in one world do not carry over to another. Worlds differ by their speed settings: resource output, construction, research, recruitment and army movement can all be tuned per world. Slow worlds are long campaigns spanning months; fast worlds are decided in weeks.
Email verification
The eight-digit code sent at registration is valid for 48 hours and can be used once. You have seven days to verify your account; request another code if yours expires. Changing your email resets verification, not the seven-day grace period. After the deadline you can still sign in and contact support, but must verify before entering worlds.
You join a world from the Worlds page, and you may play several worlds at once.
Pick your civilisation
After joining you choose one of seven civilisations. The choice is permanent for that world and determines your units, ships and bonuses.
- Ottoman Empire: balanced land army, strong siege and advanced seafaring.
- Rome: strong infantry, solid walls and infrastructure.
- Persia: fast cavalry, trade and broad logistics.
- Egypt: resource economy, storage and defence.
- Hellenic: flexible in research, trade and navy.
- Sparta: superior melee and offensive discipline.
- Hun: very fast cavalry and raid-focused play.
No civilisation is stronger than another; they reward different playstyles. If you like to sit on defence, Rome or Egypt are a good start. If you like early raiding, pick Hun or Sparta.
Where to found your capital
After choosing your civilisation you open the map and place the capital yourself. The choice is permanent, so take your time.
Three rules apply: the spot must be on land, the tile must be empty, and it must sit at least 12 units from every existing settlement. For each point you click, the screen shows the continent, the distance to the nearest neighbour and how many players are on that continent.
The important split is coastal versus inland. A coastal tile means the right to a Port and a Shipyard: navy, sea expeditions and overseas trade all run from a coastal city. That is not free — a coastal start begins with twenty per cent fewer resources. An inland start has more resources and cannot be attacked from the sea, but it will never reach the far side of the map under its own sail.
If you cannot decide, the "Choose for me" button finds a spot that satisfies the rules.
The capital is your core city and cannot be lost; your empire grows from it. The city screen shows your resources, build queue and army at a glance.
Beginner protection
New players are shielded from attack for 72 hours by default. During this time nobody can attack you and you cannot attack either. Do not waste it: these hours are the most efficient time to raise resource buildings and expand storage.
Your first session
- Raise the Lumber Camp, Quarry and Iron Mine in turn. Production buildings are the foundation of everything.
- Keep an eye on the Farm. If you hit the population cap you can build neither structures nor troops.
- Do not neglect the Warehouse. When it fills up production stops and those hours are lost.
- Upgrade the Headquarters. Each level shortens the construction time of every other building.
- Open the Barracks and recruit your first defensive units.
- Complete the Starter Guide steps. Each one grants resources and walks you through the correct order.
The Starter Guide
When you enter a world a five-step tutorial chain opens: found your empire, upgrade your first building, recruit ten units, march on a barbarian settlement and complete your first successful raid. Every step pays out wood, stone, iron, grain and gold. Following the chain in order is the fastest progression on day one.
